The Heartwoods curriculum is designed to create the basic infrastructure or scaffolding needed to begin one’s bonsai journey with the confidence that comes with a solid grasp of fundamental concepts and techniques that allows the beginner bonsai practitioner to lead their own journey in an intentional and informed way. The three semester course schedule divides techniques according to the appropriate timing of their application. This also allows students to begin at any point along the course of the year and upon completion of all three classes in the series, one per semester, they will have completed an entire year’s worth of courses and a broad survey of the knowledge and basic techniques and applications that we, as bonsai practitioners, perform throughout the year. (All classes are $125 per student)
